Dr. Elisha Dickinson-Mills, DVM Dr. Dickinson-Mills is a passionate hospital owner and practicing veterinarian. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Dalhousie University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2006. She was on the Dean's List consistently throughout her education, and received numerous scholarships for academic achievement as one of the top of her graduation class. Dr. Dickinson-Mills completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery at a referral hospital in New Jersey and then worked as an associate veterinarian at a large practice in Ontario for 5 years. Dr. Dickinson-Mills really enjoys the relationships she forms with her patients and clients, and has strong interests in medicine, surgery, lameness, and intensive care. She has been on the council for the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association, was selected as an Emerging Leader within the NBVMA in 2013, and is the on-call vet for Dressage NB. She has been invited to serve as an on-site veterinarian for the Foshay International Event in September 2018 and is a certified FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarian.
Dr. Dickinson-Mills lives with her husband, Craig, her sons, Ethan and Calder, and her dog Piper, within the town of Hampton. In addition, she enjoys time spent at the barn with her horse Poland. |
Dr. Hugh J Baird, DVMDr. Baird is a long-term resident and business owner in Hampton. He has a diploma in Agriculture from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Guelph. Dr. Baird has owned and operated a large veterinary corporation, consisting of three veterinary hospitals and a mobile equine practice within Southern New Brunswick. He operated a large standardbred breeding farm, a standardbred racing stable, and produced 3 winners of the “Atlantic Canada Horse of the Year” award. He has bred dogs for several decades, including Newfoundland dogs, Bulldogs, and Labrador Retrievers. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Baird brings excellent skills in surgery, orthopedics, nutrition, equine medicine, and business management. Dr. Baird has served on numerous boards and committees. In his free time, Dr. Baird enjoys training dogs, hunting, and fishing.

Jill Fowler-Tugwell, Veterinary TechnicianJill is a long-time resident of Hampton, who started her career as a Veterinary Technician in 2003 working in small animal practice. In addition, she managed a private equestrian facility for several years prior to joining our veterinary team full time. Jill fills an essential role in patient care and is a knowledgeable source for our clients. Furthermore, Jill takes on many of the practice management type responsibilities within the practice.
Jill enjoys spending time with her Quarter Horse gelding "Sid” and fellow horse enthusiasts where she continues to expand her knowledge in the equine field. When not in the barn, she can be found spending time with her husband Geoff, her friends, her dog Ace, and with her cat Dennis. |
Shawna Goddard, Veterinary AssistantShawna is a 2011 graduate of the Veterinary Administrative Assistant course at Eastern College. She is a resident of Sussex who had the fortune of growing up in a veterinary hospital environment. Shawna has a passion not only for the welfare of our furry companions, but also a love for medicine. In her free time she can be found either at the barn riding, practicing Karate or playing with her family's two cats "Washu" and "Salem".

Emily Sullivan, Vet Assistant
Emily is originally from Lower Coverdale, NB, but now lives in Saint John with her daughter, Sadie. As a child she always said she wanted to work with animals when she grew up. After attending St. Thomas University for three years, she decided to make a change and follow her true passion. Emily graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program at Eastern College in 2015. She came to us as a student for her on the job training, and then accepted a position with the Saint John SPCA. We were pleased to welcome her back to Dickinson and Baird in August 2016. In her free time Emily enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time at the beach with her daughter. |
Grace Coleman, Registered Veterinary Technician
Grace is a resident of Belleisle. As a child she always wanted to work at a veterinary clinic when she grew up. She was actively involved in 4-H, obtaining experience with a broad range of animals. After exploring the different roles within the veterinary practice, she decided to pursue a career as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Grace graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Oulton College in 2021 and passed the National Board Exams soon after. She came to us as a student for her on the job training, and then accepted a position with Royal Canin Pet Nutrition. We were pleased to welcome her back to Dickinson and Baird in September 2021! In her free time Grace enjoys riding her horse, spending time at her summer place, and hanging out with her dog Doug. Nia Ehrenberg, Vet Assistant
Nia is a recent University of Guelph graduate who grew up in Ontario. She has a passion for all creatures great and small and moved to New Brunswick in the hope of being accepted to the Atlantic Veterinary College in the next couple of years to become a mixed practice vet. She worked at the Ontario Veterinary College as an Animal Care Attendant and Emergency Surgery Technician for the last three years during her undergraduate degree before making the move to NB after graduation. She is also a certified 4H leader and has been an active member of 4H since 2011. When not working, Nia enjoys rock climbing, hiking, reading, and drawing. At home she can be found spending time with all her pets including her three cats, a dog, and three reptiles. |
